This new year brings new procedures, and we are very excited about the new cosmetic service we are offering, the Tixel. The Tixel is the latest device for the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles in those difficult to treat areas, such as around the mouth, eyes, décolleté, and hands. Other conditions treated with the Tixel are skin texture changes, acne scarring, enlarged pores, scars, actinic keratoses, and stretch marks. The Tixel works by using heat plate technology to cause safe, controlled thermal damage to the top layer of the skin, resulting in collagen production, skin tightening, and rejuvenation. It is safe for use in all skin types.

While the procedure is being performed, patients can experience a mild “burning” sensation when the heated plate contacts the skin, but is generally well tolerated with topical numbing. Immediately following treatment, we will apply a growth factor serum to the treated area to help promote healing agents to the area. Other serums can be added on, such as PRP, chemical peels, and lightening agents to customized results based on your skin concerns. Healing will vary based on the intensity of the treatment, but you can expect redness lasting 1-3 days, then a tiny “dot” pattern with a sandpaper texture. That will then exfoliate off around 3-4 days after treatment.

Happy New Year!
