How Does Facetite WOrk?
In a FaceTite treatment, a very thin cannula is inserted under the skin in the subdermal plane. RFAL (Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis) energy is passed between an external electrode on the skin’s surface, and the internal wand. This energy heats the layers of the skin at a temperature which liquefies fat cells and contracts the tissue. FaceTite also stimulates collagen production, which will continue over a period of six to twelve months after the initial treatment.
The FaceTite procedure takes less than 45 minutes, and local anesthetic is used to reduce the sensation of heat during the treatment. The treatment itself is closely monitored for your safety and comfort.

Is FaceTite safe?
At Hamilton Dermatology, we perform FaceTite treatments with patients’ safety and comfort as a priority. The FaceTite technology has several built-in safeguards, including real-time, online measurements of skin temperature and tissue impedance monitoring. The procedure is designed to reduce pain and swelling. The temperature can be controlled throughout the treatment, and an internal cut-off mechanism prevents overheating. The FaceTite procedure does not pose a risk to the tissues of the treated areas.
What is the aftercare procedure for FaceTite?
The FaceTite treatment can be performed under local anesthesia or light sedation. You are free to go home immediately after a FaceTite treatment, but we recommend reducing activities for two days afterwards. Patients may experience redness for a few hours after the procedure, and may feel some tenderness and light swelling in the procedure area for a few days. We recommend that you wear a compression garment to further reduce swelling and promote healing. Some patients experience mild numbness due to the heating of sub-dermal tissue, but this is temporary. Most patients return to their regular routines within a few days of their FaceTite procedure.
