EuroThreads are individual biodegradable, surgical sutures that are pre-inserted into a needle or cannula during the manufacturing process and then sterilized.
In this minimally invasive process, a single needle or thread is individually inserted into the dermis. Depending on thread type, it’s either left in place to promote collagen production or is pulled in an intended direction to produce an appearance commonly associated with lifting.
In 2015, the FDA approved biodegradeable sutures for aesthetic treatments. EuroThreads are resorbable surgical sutures composed of biodegradable polymers. They are fully absorbed by hydrolysis within 4 to 6 months and don’t create any scar tissue. This procedure stimulates collagen synthesis that will last for 12 to 15 months.
