PS from the NEW PA – October 2025

Hamilton DermatologyNews

Hi there! My name is Jenna Lawrence, and I am thrilled to be joining the Hamilton Dermatology family as their newest PA! Madison graciously invited me to take over a newsletter article to introduce myself.

First, a little bit about me: I grew up in Alpharetta (& visited Dr. Hamilton as a teen patient for my acne), completed my Bachelor’s degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and then worked as a Medical Assistant right here at Hamilton Dermatology before leaving to complete my Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Augusta University. I have had the pleasure of getting to know this incredible office as a patient, MA, and now PA, and I could not be more excited to have the opportunity to work for such an innovative and brilliant team! Outside of work, I enjoy reading, staying active, and spending time with my family, fiancé Griffin, and friends.

Second, a brief reminder as the summer season comes to a close. I hope that everyone has enjoyed several months of sun-safe time outdoors. That being said, even if you were diligent with your sunscreen, UV-protective clothing, and shade-seeking this year, the skin is unfortunately a wonderful historian. UV exposure during childhood and adolescence is associated with an increased risk of both melanoma and non-melanoma (basal cell & squamous cell) skin cancer later in life, even if sun safety measures are adopted as you mature. This means that all of us benefit from getting our skin checked!

Additionally, skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, with available data estimating that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Getting your annual skin check is a fantastic way to address this statistic and ensure that suspicious spots are identified and evaluated early. It should therefore be a part of your yearly medical care schedule. This fall is a wonderful time to schedule that annual skin check with one of our providers!

I can’t wait to meet all of you soon – you may start seeing me around the office as I train with Dr. Hamilton and Madison. Please don’t hesitate to say hello!

Jenna Lawrence, PA
